MUNNAR, Kerala: Tata officials today said they will demolish the check dams constructed by them in Munnar only if the dam safety authority asks for it.

This was stated by them at the hearing conducted by Idukki district collector Ashok Kumar Singh.

The officials said the district collector has no power to issue notice to demolish the check dams.
