KANNUR, Kerala: Viva Kerala drew with Mohammedan Sporting Club, Kolkata 2-2 in the inaugural match of the E K Nayanar Memorial Gold Cup Football tournament here yesterday.

For host Viva Kerala, V K Shibinlal struck a long ranger in the 21st minute and another in the 24th minute, foiling a valiant effort by Mohammadan Sporting goalkeeper to block him.

However, the Kolkatan side made a spirited comeback in the second half, with Susdhi Dhuley netting in the 51st minute and Sovan Chakroborty booting home another in the 62nd minute to even the tie
