New Delhi: Ace shooter Abhinav Bindra has won the gold medal at the Inter Shoot Championships in Netherlands, making it his first gold since the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

He shot identical 596 out of 600 - his Beijing Games qualification score - in the 10 m air rifle event.

This performance is the best possible answer Bindra could give the National Rifles Association of India's (NRAI) over their ongoing row over the selection policies for major tournaments.

The 27-year-old is currently training in Europe as part of the training strategy to give him adequate competitive exposure ahead of the World Championships and the Commonwealth Games later this year.
