Acclaimed actor, director Revathy called for constituting a gender counselling and guidance cell for women working in Visual media, to address the issues they face at the workplace.

Speaking on ‘Gender Sensitisation In Media’ - a discussion forum organised by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy at the Second International Documentary and Short Film Festival, Revathy feels that women are best allies as far as issues are concerned.

'And if there are forums to discuss our problems, it will make a huge difference in creating opportunities for the womenfolk. Revathy also urged the academy to bring in women scriptwriters to make films based on women's issues.

Many women film-makers including Madhusreedutta, the jury chairperson of competition section of the documentaries in the festival, and many media persons participated in the discussion forum, moderated by documentary film-maker Gargi Sen.
